September 2026: 36,817 New Entries by Creation Date, 7,158 More by First Sighting
Key figures
Only the first two figures count SEP 2026 itself. Clusters listed and overlaps listed are what this month's newsletter kept — the five fastest-growing groups and up to ten notable overlaps — not how many there were. All of these numbers were worked out once, on 2026-10-01, and are not recalculated when you open this page; the same query run today returns more, because the crawlers have kept finding projects that belong to SEP 2026.
Two different dates can put an entry in SEP 2026, and this page never adds them together. created counts entries by the creation date their source publishes — GitHub repos, in practice. first seen counts entries by the day our crawlers first met them, which is the only date the web-app builders give us for the apps they host — and the only one a store listing that publishes no release date carries either. One says when something was built; the other says when we found it, and a single combined number would quietly mean both.
Nothing in the index was found before 11 August 2026, and the sweep of 14–15 August broadened it by tens of thousands of apps in two days — nearly every first-seen date in the index comes from that sweep. Set this month against one from the other side of that line and you are measuring how far the index had reached, not how the market moved.
The staleness pair is diluted by the same population: an app found on a web-app builder has no update date at all, so it counts in the index total but can never be counted stale. Giving those apps a date did not fix that — a date we assigned is not an update the builder reported. Both percentages fall as more of those apps are confirmed, without a single project going quiet.

Clusters are a map of where ideas crowd, not a census. Most products sit in no cluster at all, and the groups are redrawn from scratch every night — so a group can split, merge or disappear, and its size can change without a single product changing. The totals in brackets are the sizes recorded when this month was written; the names link to the group as it stands today, and where a rebuild has since split or renamed one, that link can lead nowhere.
“+” counts how many of a group's members belong to SEP 2026 — not how much the group grew. A group made up entirely of this month's projects shows every member as a gain. The two figures are the two dating bases, kept apart: a group can gain nothing but first-seen members, which means we found its apps this month, not that anyone built them this month.

Same caution as above: these are crowded neighbourhoods, not a headcount, and the list stops at ten however many cleared the bar.
