How to read these months
HOW TO READ THESE
Each month carries two counts, never one. created is entries dated by the creation date their source publishes — GitHub repos, in practice. first seen is entries dated by the day our crawlers first met them, which is the only date the web-app builders give us for the apps they host — and the only one a store listing that publishes no release date carries either. One says when something was built, the other says when we found it, so adding them would produce a number that means neither.
Either count only settles once the crawlers have caught up. Nothing in the index was found before 11 August 2026 — so no month before then holds a first-seen entry at all — and coverage broadened sharply on 14–15 August, when one sweep brought in tens of thousands of apps from the web-app builders. Set a month from before that sweep against a month from after it and you are measuring how much we found, not how much the world built. The Pulse page carries live findings computed from the same index.
Where a month names its fastest-growing clusters, read them as a map of where ideas crowd, not a census. Most products sit in no cluster at all, and the groups are redrawn from scratch every night — so a group can split, merge or disappear between one month and the next, and its size can change without a single product changing.
